How do I search for multiple user names in a report?

For user reports I need to generate a report for multiple users. How can I create a filter that will allow me do this?

For the User reports a search filter for multiple users login names can easily be created for the the Logon Name filter field. An example filter to search for 3 specific users is:

jbloggs|an other|tester45
