By default, LANGuardian displays the Search page when you log on.The LANGuardian Search page contains a File activity panel.

To search by filename, type a filename, partial filename, directory name, partial directory name, or file type. LANGuardian searches for all filenames that match the search criteria.

Example of Filename search

  1. sales - Any file or directory name that contains the string “sales”

  2. sales|profit|loss - All files or directories that contain the strings “sales”, “profit”, or “loss”

  3. \\finance\\ - Directories called “finance”

  4. mdb$ - All files with the file extension .mdb

  5. .docx$|.xlsx$|.pptx$ - All Microsoft Word, Excel, or Powerpoint files

Click Go to perform the search.

LANGuardian displays a report and further drilldown will allow you to specify the action taken on the file or directory i.e. delete, delete directory

In either case, the results displayed are for the last hour. To increase the time range for the data, you can select Last 4 hours or Last 24 hours from the Select a time range or Time drop-down list.

A comprehensive user guide is available here http://www.netfort.com/sites/default/... and includes information on performing a search and using report filters.

This guide will introduce you to all of the features available within LANGuardian. If after reading this guide you have any questions that have not been addressed, please consult support@netfort.com
