A LANGuardian customer recently contacted us with an interesting use case. After installing new proxy servers and updating user Internet settings, the customer noticed a drop in the amount of bandwidth being consumed by Internet traffic. Suspecting that the old proxy server was still in use, the customer used LANGuardian to create a custom report that showed this to be true, and also provided a list of the users who were involved. This enabled the customer to identify the root cause of the problem as a misconfigured deployment script that failed to update a number of desktops.

Because it captures and analyzes actual traffic packets, LANGuardian is uniquely able to report on Internet traffic, whether direct or through a proxy server. Watch this short YouTube video to find out more about how you can monitor proxy traffic with LANGuardian.

And, as always, if you have questions about any aspect of LANGuardian, please contact us on support@netfort.com any time.
