A common use case we hear a lot from our customers is to get an inventory or list the active servers/applications on their network.

The LANGuardian Network Inventory reports focus on systems and servers which have been detected on the network.

The Network Services :: by IP report will query the LANGuardian database for systems and servers of specific type/version, by setting the appropriate values in the Port and Software filters.

To check which servers are present on your network and display their information:

  1. Select Reports / Network Inventory / Network Services :: by IP or simply use the report finder on the top right of the web interface.
  2. Expand the report filters and use the Port filter eg. 22 (ssh) or make use of the Software filter eg. Apache

In this example a search was used to search all networks for all Apache web servers currently active on the network.

A sample of the results is shown below.

And of course, please contact us if you have any further questions about the Network Inventory reports or about LANGuardian in general.
