One of the questions we hear a lot is, what applications are running over port 80? First, open the Top Protocols reports and we can answer this question by entering the port number (80) in the Server Port filter. You may find other applications tunnelling over port 80 as well, taking advantage of a hole in the firewall.
In the screenshot below, we can see that http and bittorrent are both using port 80. Some applications may look ok, others may not.
The steps to run the above report are as follows:
- Click on Reports in the LANGuardian menu bar.
- In the CBAR Applications section, click on Top Protocols. LANGuardian displays the CBAR Applications :: Top Protocols report.
- Enter the port number 80 in the Server Port field.
- Click View.
Note: The top level report CBAR :: Top Protocols, is a replacement for the old report IP :: Top Applications, which has been discontinued.
